Seán Dorgan
Non-Executive Director

Seán Dorgan joined the Board of FINEOS in 2008. Mr Dorgan was Chief Executive of IDA Ireland for nine years from 1999 to 2007 inclusive. In this time he led the organisation to continued success as one of the world’s leading inward investment agencies, positioning Ireland to win many high-value new investments against global competition. IDA’s recent successes have included leading positions in Information & Communications Technologies and Digital Media (with companies such as Dell, HP, IBM, Intel, Microsoft, Google), Life Sciences (Abbott Laboratories, Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer among many others), and Financial Services (Citibank, Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs and numerous others).  

As well as being a non-executive Director at FINEOS Corporation, Mr Dorgan is Chairman of the Governing Body of Dublin Institute of Technology and also a non-executive Director of

  • FBD Holdings plc (Insurance, hotel, leisure and other interests),

  • Short Brothers plc (Northern Ireland subsidiary of Bombardier of Canada, the world’s third largest civil aviation manufacturer).

He was recently made a member of the Boards of

  • Forfás — the policy advisory Board for enterprise and science, technology and innovation in Ireland,

  • the Institute of Public Administration, and

  • the Digital Hub Development Agency.  

Mr Dorgan has been Chairman of the Advisory Board for the Institute of Public Administration Public Service 2022 project, and he continues as a member of the National Advisory Panel for FuturesIreland and of the Advisory Board for Forfas Socio-Economic Scenarios, all of which are examining aspects of Ireland’s future.
