Ward Graffam joined the Board of FINEOS in 2009. 

Ward, a lawyer by profession and an insurance veteran with over 40 years of national and international experience, has previously held legal and executive positions with UNUM Corporation. His experience, industry perspective and practical knowledge of the insurance sector are of immense value to FINEOS.

Prior to his retirement, Ward led UNUM's international expansion efforts and was then based in London as President and Managing Director of UNUM European Holding Company, responsible for UNUM's European insurance business. He was also Chairman of UNUM UK and a Senior Vice President of UNUM America.  UNUM is the North American market leader in both group and individual disability insurance and group long-term care.  It has also been recognized as the UK's leading disability insurer for the last 11 years

As well as being a Non-Executive Director at FINEOS Corporation, Ward is a past Chairman and current board member of Maine Employers' Mutual Insurance Company, a U.S. Workers Compensation insurer. He is also a Non-Executive Director for

• Camden National Corporation, a NASDAQ listed bank holding company
• Acadia Trust, North America
• First UNUM Life Insurance Company.

He is also Chairman of the Advisory Board for the Waldron Group of Companies.

In the non-profit sector, Ward is a member of the board of Trustees for Maine Medical Center and is on the Board of Visitors for the University of Maine School of Law.
